How can students contact you?

Students can contact me by completing this form. Feel free to ask me any questions about my experiences as a transfer student at UConn!

Tell us about yourself.

Stepping into my college education, I immersed myself in business studies at James Madison University. However, it wasn’t a great fit for me there, and I decided to withdraw. An ACL tear during my winter break of my freshman year didn’t help the matter. I returned home to Connecticut and enrolled in Manchester Community College with the intentions of transferring to the UConn Business School. After being accepted to UConn, I decided not to pursue the business school and am very happy with my decision to study Geographic Information Systems. In my free time, I spend my time working out, cooking, fishing, playing basketball, and gardening.

What is your favorite spot on campus?

The UConn Recreation Center is amazing. Although I have yet to utilize it very much, I definitely plan to take advantage of it in the future. I look forward to getting involved there with everything it has to offer!

What do you love most about being a UConn student?

UConn has so much to offer. I really love the people here, and the sense of belonging you get. There are so many opportunities to get involved and meet new people. The campus is large and beautiful, but there are many quiet spots where you can get peace of mind and relax.

What is your best advice for a UConn transfer student?

It’s easy to head to class then immediately go home. Instead, try to explore the campus as much as you can, go to an event, and look for new fun activities. It is important to stay patient and try to step outside your comfort zone. I know how intimidating it may be transferring to a large school like UConn, but if you keep putting yourself in the right position, it is hard not to find success.
