How can students contact you?

Students can contact me by completing this form. Feel free to ask me any questions about my experiences as a transfer student at UConn!

Tell us about yourself.

I transferred to UConn my sophomore year and have loved it ever since! I love working out, am the youngest of four, and it’s hard to find me without an iced coffee in my hand. I am very passionate about social justice issues and could talk about them for hours. Post-grad I plan to become a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and want to work towards healthcare equity. I have an adorable Goldendoodle, Nora, who is an absolute bundle of energy and joy. My favorite shows are Grey’s Anatomy, Ozark, and Schitts Creek.

What is your favorite spot on campus?

The Wilbur Cross Reading Room is my favorite spot on campus. The large tables, library table lamps, and quiet atmosphere make it the perfect, beautiful study spot. I would recommend it as a good space for when you have a lot of work to get done!

What do you love most about being a UConn student?

My favorite thing about being a UConn student is the community. This is a large University, however, because everyone is so friendly and gathers around each other for support, it doesn’t feel that big. You can always feel the warm energy at basketball games or events in Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts, and even simply eating in the Student Union. UConn is a big community, and there is always something to do, academically or socially.

What is your best advice for a UConn transfer student?

Join clubs! Transferring to UConn, my biggest fear was that I wasn’t going to feel connected to the school at all, being that it is so big. I was scared I wouldn’t be able to make friends easily because I wasn’t starting as a freshman, however, getting involved was the ticket for me! Joining clubs you’re super interested in is the way I found my closest friends! It is so much easier to meet people when you already have something you can talk about! If you don’t know what you’re interested in, no worries! UConn has over 700 clubs so I promise if you try a few new things, you will find your people. UConn can even feel like a small school once you’re involved and have communities surrounding you for support.
