How can students contact you?

Students can contact me by completing this form. Feel free to ask me any questions about my experiences as a transfer student at UConn!

Tell us about yourself.

I have always found myself enjoying science and learning about the world around me. Health and fitness are really important to me and I always find time in my routine to get to the gym, to either work out on my own or attend a group fitness class. When I’m not studying, I love reading and journaling, usually coupled with a cup of coffee. I also enjoy documentaries, especially true crime and nature.

What is your favorite spot on campus?

I think my favorite spot on campus is probably the green by Mirror Lake. I love taking a walk there, or sitting in the shade to study, read, or visit with friends. It is a perfect place to decompress and get some fresh air on a nice day, especially during a particularly hot summer afternoon.

What do you love most about being a UConn student?

UConn is an amazing university with countless opportunities: socially, academically and professional. The professors and students alike are so incredibly welcoming and willing to offer advice as well as professional opportunities to learn and grow. If you have an interest, it’s likely that UConn has a club or space for you to gather for it. Not only are there many places to meet friends with similar interests, but the university also orients its spaces towards making an impact on the world outside of school. I have loved feeling like I’m a part of something bigger than myself, and I know that the resources I am finding here will help me immensely in the future.

What is your best advice for a UConn transfer student?

My best advice for someone transferring into UConn would be to take things one step at a time. Being such a large campus with so many students, it can be very intimidating trying to settle in and find how you function best. But allowing yourself to go to one club meeting, or to introduce yourself to your professor at the end of class, will set you up for finding your own way. Once you feel comfortable with that first step, going to office hours to ask a question or joining a club and becoming an active member will feel less impossible. Finding a new passion and making new memories starts with that first step, so don’t be afraid to lean into yourself and try something new. UConn has so many programs and opportunities to help you make the most of your time here, and once you can take advantage of those resources you’ll grow in ways you never knew you could.
