TUTORING, TIME MANAGEMENT, & STUDY SKILLS

If the tutoring you're looking for is not covered by one of the resources listed below, we suggest reaching out to the department that corresponds with the course in which you need help (ex. PSYC 1100 = Psychological Sciences Department).

MAJOR AND CAREER EXPLORATION

THE MAJOR EXPERIENCE

TME is designed to help students explore majors in a holistic, interactive, and intentional manner. Using a personalized approach, students are provided with the appropriate tools and support to choose a major(s) with confidence.

TME helps students explore majors by facilitating peer-to-peer connections through TME Student Mentors, encouraging networking with faculty and staff, offering personal guidance from Academic Advisors and Career Coaches, providing access to an assortment of valuable tools, and partnering with University departments, programs, and resources.

ACADEMIC CENTER FOR EXPLORATORY STUDENTS

ACES is UConn’s advising program for students who want to explore the University’s opportunities before deciding on a field of study and for students who must complete specific requirements before applying to a major. Each student is assigned an ACES advisor with whom they will work until they officially declare a major.

The ACES advisors work in collaboration with a variety of campus resources including faculty, Counseling and Mental Health Services, and the Center for Career Development to ensure that both students and academic programs reach their full potential.

CENTER FOR CAREER READINESS AND LIFE SKILLS

The CCD provides active career coaching assistance to UConn students on all career related issues, from choice of major to successful job placement. They support the intellectual growth of students by providing programs and experiences that promote self-awareness and engagement as they identify a course of study and pursue opportunities to become contributing members of the state, national, and world communities.

Through partnership with employers, alumni, faculty, and staff, the CCD connects students to quality career development resources, internships, experiential learning, and post-graduate opportunities.

COURSE PLACEMENT AND ADJUSTMENTS

OTHER HELPFUL RESOURCES

DEAN OF STUDENTS

If you have a question, a concern or a problem to solve, and you are not sure where to begin, the Dean of Students Office is a great place to start. They can assist with matters such as exam rescheduling, sexual assault reporting and resources, voluntary separation from the University, short term emergency loan funds, and more.

CENTER FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES

The Center for Students with Disabilities (CSD) at the University of Connecticut is committed to providing reasonable and appropriate accommodations and services to all students with permanent or temporary disabilities. Our goal is to ensure a comprehensively accessible University experience where individuals with disabilities have the same access to programs, opportunities and activities as all others.
