How can students contact you?

Students can contact me by completing this form. Feel free to ask me any questions about my experiences as a transfer student at UConn!

Tell us about yourself.

I love science and the study of life, but in my free time I love painting, drawing, or making pottery. I also like to read for fun, especially poetry. I enjoy going to the gym in the mornings before my classes start as I love to stay active during even the busiest times of the semester. If I don’t get around to going to the gym, I am always down to go on a run on a sunny day or take hikes around the area with friends because I love being around nature! I am a huge fan of Game of Thrones and there is a good chance I have watched every Earth-related documentary on Netflix.

What is your favorite spot on campus?

I think my all-time favorite spot on campus would be the three greenhouses attached to the Torrey Life Sciences building! After a long day of studying, I love going to the greenhouses because it gives you an opportunity to be around different types of plants that can’t be found around here. There are three sections each displaying a different environment, so you get to see over hundreds of incredible plants. It is a calming place where you can take quiet time to decompress from a busy day or week, which is so important to your success!

What do you love most about being a UConn student?

There are so many things I love about being a student at UConn but I think the key to most of my experiences at UConn thus far would be the community here on campus. There are so many different opportunities throughout campus that it is almost impossible to not get involved in something. If your passion isn’t in one of the hundreds of clubs at UConn then you are free to create your own and bring together a group of students similar to yourself! Being a part of various communities, whether it be leadership, volunteer, or socially oriented, has showed me that UConn allows students to come together and both better themselves as well as have an impact on the world around them. No matter what group you find yourself in, there is going to be a support group there for you during not just the semester but beyond your collegiate years as well. The faculty and staff throughout campus allows students to network and create connections that will push you to be the best version of yourself and provide resources to better your future!

What is your best advice for a UConn transfer student?

My best advice for a UConn transfer student would be to not be afraid to try new things. It can be a daunting task coming to UConn as a transfer and navigating this seemingly large campus. However, once you see that there is a group for practically every hobby on campus, the University suddenly doesn’t seem as big, and that can be a really comforting thing for a transfer student who is starting school with completely new people in an unfamiliar environment. It is important to not be afraid to try a new club or join an intramural sport or take a class you’ve never heard of. So many new experiences and passions are found through trying different things, and I feel as though these years at college are some of the best years to do that. UConn has programs that are great at allowing that for students, so take advantage of that because you will make the best of friends and develop more personal growth than you could have ever imagined!
