How can students contact you?
Students can contact me by completing this form. Feel free to ask me any questions about my experiences as a transfer student at UConn!
Tell us about yourself.
I am from Farmington, CT and I transferred to UConn the beginning of my sophomore year. I plan to become a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist and attend graduate school after college. I currently work as an assistant teacher at the UConn Health Child Care Center. When I am not in school, I enjoy hanging out with my three cats, going on walks and going to the gym. I also enjoy watching The Bachelor and reading Colleen Hoover novels.
What is your favorite spot on campus?
I really like the library in the Wilbur Cross Building. You may also know it as the South Reading Room. It is the perfect spot for a quiet study space that is not the main library. It has tall windows that allow the sun in and it has nice views of the campus. There are large study tables to spread out and the space is labeled “silent", so it is always quiet. It is my favorite “time to cram” space.
What do you love most about being a UConn student?
I love the sense of community that comes along with being a UConn student. Everyone is so proud to be a student here and the campus is filled with spirit and pride. Whenever I tell someone I am a student here, they either know someone who went here or have gone here. It is a great feeling!
What is your best advice for a UConn transfer student?
Get involved!! When I transferred to UConn, I went to the Involvement Fair and signed up for clubs that I thought would spark my interest. I would recommend going to at least the first meeting and see if you enjoy it, then narrow down to a few clubs you like and actively go to the meetings. It is a great way to meet new people and a great way to see the things that UConn offers because it can be extremely overwhelming. It can be hard to push yourself to go to the meetings but in the end it will be worth it and you might find something or join a club you never would have thought you would.
